What are some good stores or online merchants to buy healthy dog treats that won’t break my wallet?

I've become a little more conscientious about feeding my dog healthier foods (natural, organic, low fat). Seems to me Petco/Petsmart/Pet Supplies offers some options, but they are so expensive.

Dog Diapers

first time dog owner, what kind of supplies would i need?

You can make your own dog treats. I bought the Three Dog Bakery cook book and use it often to make my own treats. They are easy and cheap to make, plus my dogs love them!

Hi. If you have the time making your own is great. You know exactly what is going into them. And it doesn’t get much cheaper. tasteofhome.com has recipes.

You can make your own dog treats that is what I have done. It is healthiest because you know what is going into it and my dogs loved them more than storebought treats. Here are some of my dogs favs.
    VeggieBite-
3 1/2c whole wheat flour 1/2c shredded carrots
    1/2c Outmeal 1 1/4c water
1/2c diced celery 3 TBS olive oil
1/8c diced red bell peppers (optional)
    1/2c unsalted sunflower kernels (optional)

Preheat over to 375 degrees. Mix water and oil. Add flour, oatmeal, vegetables, and sunflower kernels. Knead dough for 2-3 minutes and roll to 1/4″ thick. Cut dough into bone shapes and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 30 minutes or until the side are brown. Makes 5 dozen.

    PeaMutt Butter

1/4c peanut butter 2 1/4c whole wheat flour
    1TBS vegetable oil 1c oatmeal
    1cwater

Preheat pver to 375 degrees. In a large bowl combine peanut butter, oil, and water. Gradually add flour, then oatmeal. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness and cut with a cookie cutter. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 35 minutes or until edges are brown. Makes 5 dozen.

Making sure that what you are feeding your dog is so incredibly important. I am very careful with what I give our dog Roxie because she is like a family member to us. She is a rescue dog that we have had for 7 years now and we just love her. The pet treats that I get her are of the Poochie Treats line of products at.

They do an EXCELLENT job of cleaning her teeth and gums and save me a ton of money in vet costs each year by doing so. Also, their rawhide products are 100% american beefhide and they are soft, chewy, and flexible so they are safe and easily digested. They have also made her coat much more shiny. Give them a try and see if they work for you.

I used coupon code A15 last week and got 15% off so if that interests you give it a shot.
