Is there a formula of sorts? Our dog was in for a dental cleaning a week ago and the pre-anesthetic blood panel showed a slightly elevated BUN level and a high creatinine (2.5). The vet asked if he was showing signs of kidney failure (excessive water intake, lack of appetitie, lethargic, accidents in the house). He's shown none of these signs. He actually doesn't seem to drink enough. Urine test showed bacteria-so he's currently on an antibiotic, but the bacteria culture came back "no growth" - so she said it must not have been a significant infection. He also had low urine concentration. He goes back at the end of this week for another urine test. Since then we bought bottled water-thinking our softened well water might not be good for stressed kidneys. I've been measuring and he only drinks about 2.5 cups of water a day, even though he has an endless supply. That doesn't seem like enough. He's 95 pounds, 8 years old, Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Will ask the vet this week of course.

I should clarify-- the reason I am looking for online companies is because there are no pet shops here-- no PetCo, no PetSmart, just Safeway and Walmart-- and lets face it-- their selection sucks, and they charge too much.
Nope-- no farming or feed stores.

Imagine a small town with about 8000 people-- and just the usual tourist shop and bars... and a few grocery stores. Oh and a couple coffee stands. That's where I live.

I'm 10 years old, have a brother who's 15 and I LOVE DOGS! I basically live for dogs. it's long time tell I get a dog but I guess I just want to get ready, so can you tell me what kind of dog would fit my lifestyle?
OK well my mom works 4 days a week. She sleeps in the days (she works night shift) 9-3 but on Fri. she picks me up from school at 12. Usually on school days (besides Fri.) I get out at 3pm. I go to school at 8. My mom works on Fri. Sat., Sun., and Sometimes Mon. SO she has day-offs when I'm at school and can take care of the dog so it wont be alone. When I come I will probably look forward to walking the dog to the park (down the street) and I need a small dog because I want it to be an inside dog. I also want the dog to be friendly with humans and other dogs (MY neighborhood has lots of dogs, that i want it to be friendly with) I can supply all the food, care,and love it needs. O and I want a dog that doesn't get sick that often. Please tell me a what kind of dog, please!
My mother wants me to get a toy poodle, I dont think that would fit my lifestyle
